BridgesWork Programs
BridgesWork offers school-year monthly and summer programs to help achieve our mission “to participate in the lives of children, equipping them through academic growth, spiritual development, and service to others so that each child can identify future dreams and build bridges to move from those dreams to reality.”

BRIDGESWORK SUMMER READING AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR
GRADES 1-3
This program strives to provide children enrolled in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade in the current school year with the opportunity to increase their reading skills and participate in enrichment activities that include music, spiritual awareness, character development, SEL, and STEM. Texas-certified teachers teach all classes. There is no charge to enroll. BridgesWork provides certified teachers, transportation, all supplies, a nutritional lunch, and a daily snack.
FUN FIELD TRIPS
Students enrolled in our two-week enrichment camps participate in field trips. We link these field trips to the theme of the books each class reads during our two weeks together. In the past, we have visited the Air and Space Museum at Love Field, the Artisan Theatre in Hurst, the Euless and Bedford Public Libraries, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, the SEA LIFE Aquarium in Grapevine, and the Museum of Science and Omni Theatre in Ft. Worth. In 2025, we also enjoyed visits to Rita's Italian Ice, and Los Jimadores Tex-Mex Restaurant. Grades 1-3 were also given the opportunity to develop creative art projects with Ms. Wendie Lunsford of My Village Library in Hurst.
We usually celebrate the end of our summer camp with a FIELD DAY at the Trinity High School Indoor Activity Center.

BRIDGESWORK LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Leadership Academy I: Grades 7-8
Each year BridgesWork offers a number of FREE leadership development opportunities for students enrolled in grades 7-12. The initial curriculum for the summer program is based upon the Search Institute’s Internal Developmental Assets. These include Commitment to Learning; Positive Values;
Social Competencies; and Positive Identity. However, the program also introduces students to the nuances and challenges of junior high, and provides them with an introduction to the expectation of community service that all BridgesWork youth (grades 7-12) must fulfill.
Leadership Academy II: Grades 9-12
Students in grades 9-12 continue their leadership development program with a focus on issues and opportunities that arise during their high school years and beyond. Both Leadership programs extend throughout the school year with student participation in monthly Saturday sessions.

Mission Trip
Students who are enrolled in the BridgesWork Leadership Academies are eligible to participate in various mission trip experiences.
Young Adult Gatherings
(Post High School)
Beginning in the spring of 2023, BridgesWork graduates began participating in sessions they requested and designed. Working with Thomas and Amber Hawthorne and Matt and Sara Taylor, these students continue to navigate their various worlds beyond high school.
